I originally started the website early on in the first covid lockdown. Our son, Lawrie, had been making vlogs of me sharing words of encouragement for the members of my churches and then presenting them on my facebook page Rev In The House. These proved very successful with people commenting from several parts of the world.
As we are now in our third lockdown it’s time for an update.
After serving God in the Methodist Church based in Plymouth and Millbrook, Cornwall we moved during August and are now serving in Crediton, Mid Devon. My churches are Crediton M C, Silverton M C, Tedburn St. Mary M C, Whiddon Down M C and Crockernwell M C. The churches are scattered over some of the most beautiful countryside that I have ever seen. The members of the churches are as varied as a box of chocolates, all seeking God in their own unique ways as we all do.
We all know that this horrible virus and its mutations are still with us and I do not want to dwell on this. The NHS and all front line workers are to be highly commended. We must all do everything that we can to be safe, sensible and well. All of my churches are closed for the time being. Many other denominations are open for corporate worship but we do not want to provide any opportunity for the virus to spread. ‘Stay at home unless it is essential to go out.’
Can I please encourage anyone reading this to pray? And to read your Holy Bible too. Pick out the parts that you like best and be encouraged, tackle the more challenging scripture when everyone has been vaccinated and we do some studies together, to build each other up on line.I provide Monday Moments at 2pm and on Thursdays Mid Week Worship at 10.30am, both via zoom.Contact me for details. Meanwhile take care, you are precious to the Lord, walk with him daily. He is as close as your breathing. Bye for now, Rev Alison
